Evernote has been gaining increasing popularity with the passage of time. It is one of the ultimate tools when we talk about productivity. It has a wide variety of services that allow it to be used in uncountable ways. The last post I wrote was about the cloud storage services. Everybody loves the likes of Dropbox, Google Drive and SkyDrive. I’ll have to say, Evernote slightly falls in the same category but gets largely ignored. There is no limit to which you can achieve with this app and it deserves more attention. You can save notes, audio, photos on the go to remember every interesting or important thing that you may encounter in your day. The notes will be synced automatically to your Evernote account, and with that, to all your devices. In this post I will list down the services that Evernote provides, and a short explanation on what you might be able to achieve by using them.
There are a total of eight official services that Evernote Corporation provides. Each having their own purpose and different features. So lets run down this list and take a brief look at each of them.
1. Evernote
Evernote is the premier service that Evernote Corporation offers. As I mentioned earlier, it syncs all your notes, images, audio clips and makes them available on all your devices. You can save the interesting things tat you liked so you always remember them, save your favorite webpages that you most likely would want to re-visit. You can gather all your notes relating to a single topic in one place. You can also share your notes with your friends and colleagues who also happen to use Evernote.
2. Skitch
Skitch is a service by Evernote that aims on allowing you to convey your point or message with more annotations, sketches and less words. You can draw attention to the objects of your focus in those sketches and get your point across faster and more easily than you would have to do by explaining it in words.
3. Penultimate
Penultimate is a unique service by Evernote that is limited to Apple’s iPad only. It is a handwriting tool that is quite popular among the iPad users. It is pretty much the same as you would write or draw on a paper during lectures for example, except with penultimate, you’ll be writing it all on your iPad. You will be provided with the essential tools for writing and scribbling on the “page”. The best part is, you can keep notes related to a specific topic or event in separate notebooks to keep them organized.
4. Web Clipper
Web Clipper is Evernote’s service that allows you to save webpages or anything that you find interesting online and you are sure you would want to revisit it again sometime later. It can be in the form of text, links and even images. What you can basically do is crop out and save a particular part of the text, or an image from a particular webpage. You can save your interests and read them anywhere you want to or need to.
5. Evernote Hello
Next in the list is Evernote Hello. This is very interesting services. It didn’t fail to get me to raise my eyebrows when I first read about it. We meet alot of different people as the time passes, it is common to forget about some of the people we meet. As a result, the next time we meet them, it gets harder to recognize them. Evernote Hello creates sort of a directory of the people you meet. When you meet a new person, you can add them to this book and fill in the details about them. This will create a rich history of the individuals that you meet.
6. Evernote Food
This is another unique application that Evernote corporation has created. This is for all the food lovers out there. As they say it, this service helps you remember all your favorite food. Interesting. You can gather information about the dishes that you eat daily at home or at some eating place and share it with your friends. You can keep all the recipes of your favorite dishes in one place and can also discover new restaurants near the place you live.
7. Evernote Clearly
This one is to aid all the followers of different online blogs. You can read the blog posts cleanly and easily and save the ones that you like. It allows you to clear off all the extras to bring the content into focus. You can choose the themes already available or you can create you own personal theme that suits your needs or requirements. If you haven’t finished reading a post, you can save it to be read later as well.
8. Evernote Peek
Lastly, we have Evernote Peek. This is another service made for the iPad and is dedicated primarily to study material. You can gather text, audio and images and put them together in the form of notes to prepare for a test or an exam. Additionally, you can learn new content everyday that is published by professional content publishers.
These are the eight great services that Evernote Corporation has developed. Productivity at its finest I must say. Try these out on your respective devices and never forget anything that you experience!
